Pho My Lan – my new favorite pho

Pho My Lan
1160 Maunakea StHonolulu, HI 96817
(808) 528-3663

Upon the recommendation of a Vietnamese tailor in Chinatown, a friend and I checked out Pho My Lan for lunch one day. The tailor praised Pho My Lan for the homemade rice noodles and clear broth (although according to her, they don’t give as much meat as other places).

My bowl of pho – nice clear broth. A little sweet by itself but perfect doused with hot sauce

My favorite part – 3 different types of hot sauce!

A funny sign of the time: Saigon Cafe now offering self-serve frozen yogurt!

What do you think of the Pho from Bac Nam? I was quite impressed! But I'll certainly put 'Pho My Lan' on my Chinatown eats to-do list. Thanks for the tip!

I always get the bun bo hue (spicy beef soup) instead of pho at Bac Nam, since that is absolutely my favorite thing there, so I don't think I've actually ever had the pho there! I'll have to try it...
